Buffalo National River and NW Arkansas
Not much happening with wildlife today in the valley. Some elk early Sunday down by the Ponca access. They migrated across 74 heading west into a bedding area. Not a great herd, but interesting to people who have never seen elk. No good bulls.

No herds elsewhere except bachelor bulls in the south end just north of the mill pond, but they are too far from the road to photograph. At least they are around, and they will keep moving around the south end.

After the cattle move from the Ponca fields, there will likely be a herd re-establish itself in the north end fields. This has been the winter pattern for a few years, but it will not happen until the cattle move to other fields as part of normal field rotations. The very first field on the north end doe not have cattle in it, but it is a small field and can not support a lot of animals for long. Don't forget to check the field in front of Lost Valley.
