Buffalo National River and NW Arkansas
The bull fighting and the rut is on in full bore. All the basic behaviors associated with the rut are now in place. I am shooting twice most days so as to not miss the action. I would expect this "prime time", with all the fights to last at least another month.

The herds have been concentrated up toward Ponca, in the second and third field south of the Ponca Access. Expect good shooting in mornings and evenings. My experience is that the best fighting is in the mornings, but it can happen any time. See my entry on real bull fights vs. sparring.

I am shooting everything at ISO 800 and wide open to get fast shutter speeds during the fights. This is pretty exciting stuff to watch. Yesterday was exceptional, I shot two different fights between the same bulls in about an hour.  Pictures below:

These two fights are pure gravey for me. The photos displayed here have not been fine tuned. I wanted to get them to you so you could see the action.
